March 1 , 2021 Full Forest Day

We had a great first full day in the forest. I am sure there will be many tired Early Learners tonight. We met and played with the children from the opposite section. It was good to see them creating new friendships. We were busy digging, sliding, rolling, running, and imagining. There was a boat going to Hawaii, riding scooters (sticks), some pictures of zombies (on cardboard piece), zombie rock n roll guitar music and singing, cooking with snow, hide & seek in the storage box, and much more.

These boys worked to chip away the snow from the log so they could move it. They stuck with it until they had it free.

There was a lot of evidence that deer have been active in our classroom including tracks, a deer bed, and scat. The children were most excited to tell me about every pile of scat they found.

We had lunch around the campfire and later went back to make our snack of pancakes with chocolate chips and roast a marshmallow.

We are looking forward to next week after a good sleep tonight!
