Dec 12 Forest Day

In the forest today we found it was a little chillier than last week and lots more snow. We learned that if we kept moving we stayed warmer. Water proof gloves, a scarf, and 2 pairs of socks in winter boots were also helpful.

AM and PM classes had different areas we explored. In the morning we joined Ms. Nogee's kindergartners to explore a new and much larger "classroom" area. In the afternoon we went back to the same area we were in last week. It was great for the PM class to be the first ones in an area so they could see it undisturbed.

The AM class quickly found new friends in the kindergarten class and were busy making snow angels, digging, climbing, and playing pretend.

The PM class was busy using sticks to knock snow off trees, building, climbing, and playing pretend--ninja turtles, loud monsters, train rides, and mommies with babies.

We are wondering what next week will bring--maybe more snow! Please make sure your child is dressed to stay warm and dry--an extra pair of water proof mittens is a good idea!

One standard addressed today was:
Approaches to Learning--Curiosity, Persistence, and Engagement
A.EL. 2 Engages in meaningful learning through attempting, repeating, experimenting, refining, and elaborating on experiences and activities.
