Forest Day October 4, 2021

 We spent our day finding deer tracks, bones, VERY long sticks (even taller than Mrs. Bender), and many crawling creatures. There was laughing, singing, conversing, running, balancing, digging, and building. Some children made a tall birthday cake--3 logs high, others had a store or used the numerous mushrooms for chopping and "making soup". A few tried pushing over a large tree and then moved to a smaller one to push and dig around the bottom. Some morning children worked to fill a hole with pine cones (their water) and built a bridge over it and some afternoon children were determined to clear out the pine cones so the hole would be clean.

One standard addressed today was: Social Emotional Development--Self-competence--C.EL. 2 Engages in social interaction and plays with others.
