We were so glad to be back in the forest today!!! We had so much fun digging, building, running, "cooking", and being loud. Do you know what one of the first signs of spring is? It is the owls getting their nests ready. Before we made it half way down the hill, one child said, "Mrs. Bender I found something" It was owl fluff. We also found a few owl pellets so the owls are active in our area again :) On the trail Mrs. McConochie found long, white animal hair--we are thinking it might be from a deer's tail or possibly a skunk's tail. Around the campfire we roasted marshmallows. In the morning we tried roasting lemon bread and in the afternoon we roasted mini pancakes.
