Nov 27 Forest Day

Last week we were in the park and areas nearby because of gun deer season, so we were glad to be back in the forest. We noticed fewer leaves on the trees and that the tall pumpkin was flat and squishy.

We had lots of time to play and explore with our friends. There were houses and tents built...

Pretend campfire with hunting stories...

Goldilocks and the the bears re-imagined (lots of baby bears running in search of mother bear as well as some porridge)...

Digging and burying...

Teamwork in lifting logs--they flipped it over twice! Their original goal was to pick up the 25 foot log...

and hunting and then calling the doctor for the injured deer.

We also learned how to use the potato peelers to whittle sticks so we could roast marshmallows--yummy!

One standard addressed today was:
Listening and Understanding
A.EL. 3 Follows directions of increasing complexity.
