Dec 4 Forest Day

Warm but wet today in the forest--hard to believe it is Dec 4th with temperatures in the upper 50s.

In the morning we noticed the sky and our classroom got slightly darker before we felt the raindrops. There were a few rumbles of thunder and flashes of lightning so we hung out in the storage shed with Miss Nogee's kindergartners. She read us The Gingerbread Man.

We used the shovels and our hands to dig in the muddy dirt.

We played pretend. In the morning they pretended there was a tornado and built a deer stand for protection. In the afternoon I think they made it through most of the Moana movie.  A few kiddos switched outer wear so they could be each other.

Many took a turn balancing and walking on the long log in our classroom.

Next week the biggest change we notice probably will be the temperature--dress warm!

One standard addressed today was:
Motor Development
B.EL.1a Moves with strength, control, balance, coordination, locomotion, and endurance. Purpose and Coordination
