Forest Day October 14, 2019

Our day started out crisp, but we were on the move and stayed toasty warm.

We had so much fun playing and pretending with our friends. There were games of hide-n-seek and tag. We had rock turtles, homemade fishing poles (and the friends were the fish), seesaw experiments, dancing, witches on broomsticks, and pretend surgery.

A few friends played a trust game--one lead the others through the forest with their "blindfolds" on.

The afternoon was filled with building, balancing, and finding critters. We found 3 different frogs, a grasshopper, and some worms. There was also a skull, and antler, and an exoskeleton.

Some children took time to relax and watch the trees in the breeze or clouds float by--one cloud looked like a mermaid. We also had lots of practice putting gloves and coats on and off.

One standard addressed today was:
Sensory Organization--C.EL. 1 Uses senses to take in, experience, integrate, and regulate responses to the environment.
