Forest Day October 28, 2019

So much fun in the forest today. We did find a few living creatures--one tiny spider on a web, a cricket like bug, and many worms. Our bodies were moving and our minds imagining.

We were on the move--children as race car/go-karts running up and down hills in the morning and a "Spaghetti Monster" chase game in the afternoon. We balanced, jumped, and rolled--at one point most of the morning class were logs rolling together. We found softer wood under bark and some were very focused on scraping out as much as they could. Others were determined to find rocks.

We were busy cooking with leaves, mushrooms, bark, and pine needles. A unicorn, baby dragon, dark blue jaguar, and a zombie made their appearances today too. The hair and nail salon was open for a short time.  No snow yet so some made "dirt" angels. A few requested the track book to read as well.

One Standard Addressed today was:
Exploration, Discovery, and Problem Solving--A. EL. 1 Uses multi-sensory abilities to process information.
