We were all excited to be back in the forest this week. The sun was bright, the air crisp, and the ground lightly frosted with snow. We discovered we could see our breath and shake snow from some of the trees.
The digging area was a busy place. Two deep holes were connected and a few others started. Some tried making a stick bridge while others jumped across. Many just liked seeing how their bodies fit into them.
A few pots and pans destined for the trash found a new home in our classroom. The sand stuck together for castles. Other children were inspired to cook.
We used our imaginations and experimented too.
One standard addressed today was:
Listening and Understanding--A.EL. 2 Listens and responds to communications with others.
