It was another beautiful fall day in the forest. The children were busy communicating, moving, experimenting, and imagining. In the morning they discovered how to change a tetter totter into a launcher and tried various sticks, bark chips, pine needles, etc on one side and different larger sticks/log parts to drop down to make the lighter items fly up in the air. In the afternoon there was a group of singers and dancers. They even found a log remanent that worked as their guitar. Many imagined they were animals too--there was a wolf, horses, and cats as well as another group that were monsters living in a volcano. Here is a glimpse at our day:
One standard addressed today was: General Cognition and Knowledge--Scientific Thinking: C. EL. 4 Forms explanations based on trial and error, observations, and explorations.
