Forest Day Feb 12, 2024

We arrived at the forest to find most of the snow had melted away. We read a story about George Washington and found his picture on a dollar bill and a quarter before heading off to build, dig, create, and move. We noticed owl fluff on a couple trees and then found some owl pellets.

Lots of imaginative play and conversations--some worked on digging a narrow but deep "werewolf" trap, a couple made bird nests and fairy homes, we had a king and queen with their workers, a pizza parlor, a house/hideout, and a couple singers with their stick guitars.

Here is a glimpse of our day:

One standard addressed today was: Social Emotional Development--Social Competence--C.EL. 3 Demonstrates understanding of rules and social expectations.
