Forest Day Feb 19, 2024

 We enjoyed another wonderful day in the forest. We read about owls and learned they are noctural--active at night. We found a few feathers, nut shells, rocks, LOTS of sticks, and pinecones. In the afternoon the pinecones were marshmallows. The tabletop campfire from the morning group transformed into a hideout for the afternoon group. The children were busy building strength, endurance, and flexibily while carrying, balancing, running, digging, and building. We enjoyed campfire hot chocolate today too. 

A big thank you to Dani's family for purchasing the canvas bags from our classroom Amazon wishlist--they worked great for keeping our gloves, hats, and waterbottles all in one place. Also thank you to Tristin's family for donating the hot chocolate.

One standard addressed today was: General Cognition and Knowledge--Exploration, discovery, and Problem Solving: A. EL. 2 Understands new meanings as memory increases.
