More forest adventures today--lots of climbing, cooking, digging, balancing, and imagining. We ventured to the edge of our classroom and explored a downed oak branch--its been there all year but they never showed interest until today. It started with crawling in the leaves and went to crawling up the large limb. We had to practice patience and communication while letting others know we wanted to get off or go farther. Later many of the small branches were broken off and taken near the rock. They also gathered many acorns from them. In the afternoon one child was chatting and pulled her tooth out. She was super excited and showed everyone the rest of the day :) There was also lots of music especially drumming throughout the day. Over the campfire we had string cheese and bunny peeps.
Here is a glimpse of our day:
Hospital and xray machine
campfire
Planted their own forest
Chanting names together to call classmates over
Tunneling into the branches
Building a fairy house
Designed a catapault
