April 10 Forest Day

Today we noticed changes--Changes in leaves opening and plants growing; changes on the ground including tracks and mole tunnels; changes in sound like many different bird calls, frogs peeping from the pond, and thunder in the afternoon; changes in temperature--the morning stayed very warm, but the last half hour in the afternoon air got much cooler.

Here are a few highlights:






We found sticky sap and some smelled it.







We found bugs and worms. We also found a few ticks so please check your child tonight!








We jumped, climbed, balanced, and tried to get a hat into the tree.









We dug just because.as well as, to create secret hideouts, troll houses, and troll & Bergen traps.

















We whittled with our own potato peelers.




















We played games with each other.
