Forest Day Dec 3, 2018

We were welcomed by an inch or 2 of snow covering the ground when we arrived in the forest day. In the morning we saw many different animal tracks including deer, mouse, and turkey. The snow was also great to play and imagine with.

Here are a few highlights from today:

Discussing who would be who and what they were doing
 Making Christmas spaghetti with sauce
 Climbing and dismantling
 Stirring the Christmas spaghetti
Shaking the trees and trying to catch the snow as it falls down
Dismantling and reconstructing in a different location
 Noticing deer tracks
 Finding more tracks
The remaining pieces become a campfire
 New construction
 working together to build
 On the move
 Filling, dumping, and mixing
 Tiny Snowduck they made
 More building
More pasta and a red sauce
 Taking care of the "campfire"
 Moving logs
 Driving
Making plans before taking off running

We also went to the fire pit for the first time and we roasted marshmallows. Everyone did a good job listening to and following the safety rules by the fire pit. The marshmallows were yummy too!
