Forest Day April 1, 2019

No fooling today--we were so happy to be back in the forest playing and exploring together.
We started the day with a group class picture by the forest sign.

In our classroom there was so much imaginative play happening. It was amazing. Some children looked for Bigfoot and others were Power Rangers (AM) or Superheroes (PM). Some found buried treasure and made guessing at what it could be. There was a porcupine built out of dirt and sticks, a house designed for a spider with furniture, sheep in a pen, a turtle, and many more creations.

We found a couple pine trees just peeking through the ground, tiny owl pellets, grubs, a worm, and other bugs on the ground, under logs, or in decaying bark.

One standard addressed today was:
Scientific Thinking--C. EL. 4 Forms explanations based on trial and error, observations, and explorations.
