Forest Day March 9, 2020

On and off drizzle made today damp in the forest. In the morning many children were disappointed there wasn't enough water to make a puddle so they supplemented with what they had in their water bottles. By afternoon a crevice in the rock and a small 3" hole had collected a little water.

Both classes spent time using the sticks uncovered after all the snow melted. A cross section of a log was found--in the morning I was told it looked like a rabbit but in the afternoon I was told it looked like a camel. It all depended how it was turned. Digging was much easier too--the frost must be mostly gone from the soil.

One standard addressed today was:
Curiosity, Engagement, and Persistence--A.EL. 3 Exhibits persistence and flexibility.
