After 8 years of going to the forest, we had a very unique opportunity. In the afternoon (with special glasses purchased by PTO) we were able to view the eclipse. Many descibed it looking like a cookie with a bit out of it. When we returned to school, one child used her glasses and was happy to announce, "it's a circle again."
The rest of our day was spent making pies--soooo many different flavors, hunting turkey, building fairy houses, running, digging, and roasting gingerbreadman peeps on the real campfire.
Here is a glimpse of our day:
found a spider web
It's her "turkey".
