Forest Day Sept 9, 2024

 We had a beautiful day for our first trip to the school forest. For some children it is their very first bus ride! We spent some time learning the boundaries (pink or orange ribbons on the trees) and talking about looking out for others if we want to throw pinecones or sticks and keeping a distance from other children when we are carrying sticks. We had time to explore, experiment, build, run, and use our imagination. One child told me his long stick was his trunk. Some children made "soup".  Another made drums. In the morning we saw deer tracks and found a worm. In the afternoon we found a dried up frog and a wiggly caterpillar. We did get a few scrapes and cuts, as well as, many checked out the port a potty--some twice. Here is a glimpse at our day:
