Forest Day September 8, 2025

 We had a wonderful first day in th e forest--there were a few hungry mosquitos but otherwise it was great. We read the story Jo McDonald Hiked in the Woods and found the pink and orange ribbons marking the boundaries of our classroom. We were busy looking for bones and bugs. We found a couple Daddy Long Legs, a caterpillar, some worms, and of course mosquitos. Many enjoyed tugging on the rope tied in a tree and in the afternoon it inspired building a raccoon trap. If they catch a raccoon they are going to name it Sparkles.  We did not do a campfire yet--we will settle in a few weeks before we incorporate that.

One standard addrssed today was: Health and Physical Development--Motor Development: B.EL. 2 Exhibits eye-hand coordination, strength, control, and object manipulation .
