Feb 27 Forest Day

We had another great day in the forest. In the morning one child's game of throwing his hat in the tree and figuring out how to get it back down became a group art project--tree with hats sculpture. Others were inspired to find ways to put gloves in a tree and reach for their hat with a stick.  In the afternoon we heard and then saw a bald eagle (sorry no pictures--it was during our story).

We were busy:

Digging and Discovering,

Looking and Listening,

Balancing and Building,

Climbing and Crawling.

and so much more--Mr. Carlson found some mushrooms, explained how they feed off dead trees, named their parts.

One standard addressed today was:
Curiosity, Engagement, and Persistence

A.EL. 2 Engages in meaningful learning through attempting, repeating, experimenting, refining, and elaborating on experiences and activities.
